The Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Nevada OSHA), operating under the Division of Industrial Relations within the Department of Business and Industry, is the regulatory agency responsible for enforcing Nevada’s Official State Plan.

Nevada OSHA Training Requirements and Your Responsibilities

The Nevada State Plan covers all state, federal, and private sector employees, with the following notable exceptions:

  • Employment in the maritime industry, including shipyards, marine ports, and longshoring

  • Contract employees and contractor-operated facilities for the United States Postal Service (USPS)

  • Contractors and subcontractors working on federally owned properties

  • Private sector employment on military installations and sites

  • Work conducted on Native American land

  • Working conditions for all onboard aircraft cabin crew members

  • Any risks, businesses, regions, activities, or locations where the state cannot effectively exercise jurisdiction due to factors unrelated to the plan’s performance requirements or design
