The Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Nevada OSHA), operating under the Division of Industrial Relations within the Department of Business and Industry, is the regulatory agency responsible for enforcing Nevada’s Official State Plan.
The Nevada State Plan covers all state, federal, and private sector employees, with the following notable exceptions:
Employment in the maritime industry, including shipyards, marine ports, and longshoring
Contract employees and contractor-operated facilities for the United States Postal Service (USPS)
Contractors and subcontractors working on federally owned properties
Private sector employment on military installations and sites
Work conducted on Native American land
Working conditions for all onboard aircraft cabin crew members
Any risks, businesses, regions, activities, or locations where the state cannot effectively exercise jurisdiction due to factors unrelated to the plan’s performance requirements or design
