This OSHA 30-Hour Outreach Training for Construction provides supervisors and workers with advanced safety knowledge to help protect crews, reduce job-site risks, and support a strong safety culture. It is part of our broader OSHA 30-Hour training courses, which cover both construction and general industry to meet the needs of any worksite. When you’re responsible for keeping a construction site safe, proper training can support safer outcomes.

This course delivers a comprehensive overview of the policies, procedures, and best practices outlined in OSHA 29 CFR 1926, along with practical guidance for identifying, avoiding, and controlling major construction hazards.

You’ll learn how to develop and implement a complete safety and health program covering critical topics like stairways and ladders, confined spaces, hand and power tools, scaffolding, explosives, and blasting agents. By the end, you’ll be better prepared to identify hazards and support safer job site practices.

The OSHA 30-hour Construction Outreach Training course has been reviewed and authorized by OSHA for online distribution. OSHA-authorized Outreach training courses are provided in partnership with 360training.

Instructor: Jason Cole – OSHA Outreach Trainer  

Jason Cole, CIH, CSP, is our OSHA Instructor of Record. He is an OSHA-authorized Outreach Trainer for General Industry and Construction and has been involved in safety and health since 2002. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). He has a BS in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington. Jason is also a Texas State-Licensed Journeyman Electrician. He has completed site safety and health audits of hundreds of construction sites and general industry facilities and served as an occupational health and safety expert witness in civil litigation cases. OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certificate & DOL Card

OSHA does not “certify” workers. This OSHA-authorized Outreach Training for Construction course results in an official OSHA 30 Department of Labor (DOL) card, a widely recognized credential available through the Outreach Training Program.

Upon successful completion, you will receive:

• An immediate certificate of completion available upon finishing the course and required survey
• An official OSHA 30 DOL card, mailed after the course and survey are completed, typically within 2 weeks

To receive your DOL card, you must complete all course modules, pass the required assessments, and submit the post-course survey. The card is then issued and mailed directly to you.

OSHA 30 DOL cards do not expire under federal OSHA. However, employers, states, cities, or individual job sites may require refresher training every 3–5 years. Always check with your employer or local jurisdiction for specific requirements.

Who Should Take OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training?

OSHA 30-Hour Construction training is designed for workers, contractors, and supervisors involved in construction activities. In its construction category, OSHA includes all work related to construction, alteration, repair, painting, and decorating. Anyone with supervisory responsibilities should prioritize this course, as it emphasizes hazard recognition and safety leadership on the job site.

Employees may need to take additional courses beyond OSHA 30-hour training to meet organizational requirements, but those are ultimately employer responsibilities. This course provides 30 hours of training on safety responsibility with an emphasis on recognizing job site hazards so you and your crew can stay safe.

Course Objectives

The OSHA 30 Hour Construction Industry Training course is a comprehensive safety program designed for anyone involved in the industry. Specifically devised for safety directors, foremen, and field supervisors; the program provides complete information on OSHA compliance issues. OSHA recommends Outreach Training Programs as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by OSHA 29 CFR 1926. Construction workers must receive additional training, when required by OSHA standards, on specific hazards of the job. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an OSHA 30-Hour DOL course completion card within 2 weeks. The OSHA 30 Hour Outreach course is NOT equivalent to the OSHA 510 or 511 courses and will not meet the course prerequisites to take the OSHA 500 or 501 courses.
